About the Event

This is the 2nd annual fundraising event for the SD91 Hundiyhin Indigenous Girls' Group. The evening includes dinner, live music, a fashion show and a live and toonie auction. This year our fashion show will be by Dakelh Artist Gladys Michell and our entertainment will be a live performance by Arya and Zoe Spooner.  All proceeds of the event will go towards future programming. The Hundiyhin program's primary goal is to rematriate our community through the development of our young women in four key areas: Leadership, Language and Culture, Mental Health and Physical Literay. We will also be connecting with Indigenous girls' groups around the globe.

Hundiyin

This term is from the Nedut'en dialect and is a word used only for the women in our community. It loosely translates into English as sharp like a knife, but refers to the strength, mental clarity and ability for our women to speak for our community.
